Ciao! 2010, Hello 2011

It’s been a crazy year for me. Here’s what I remember:

  • Went snowboarding and was pretty decent
  • Started the now defunct Blogivation, where I interview one of my favorite bloggers Kelly Sutton.
  • Had an awesome birthday weekend in San Francisco with three of my best friends.
  • Discovered the wonder of Pho
  • Started a Tea Blog
  • Enjoyed a 23 year old Pu-erh tea.
  • Started two books
  • Became a Customer Service Rep for Verizon Wireless.
  • Went a month  and a half of skipping lecture for my Microbiology  class (because of new job) and still passed the class with an A.
  • Went to my first concert– Alien Ant Farm
  • Started working on a minimalistic lifestyle.

2010 was a great year, I learned a lot about myself  and met some of my goals. Here are some of my goals for 2011:

  • Post more: On both here and on Tyro’s
  • Travel: Was able to make a trip to San Francisco. This year I want atleast go back to Frisco, make a trip to LA, and do an out of state trip.
  • Write more: further my three books.
  • Take more pictures: Did some pretty good things this past year but don’t have many pictures of my adventures.
  • Video Blogs: Now that I have my hands on a flip  cam, I am wanting to get on screen and show my ugly mug.
  • Shed some: Lost a little weight this year, kinda want to loose a little more.
  • Build more courage: Jordan needs to get his groove back.
  • Read More: Clearly I have a list of book I need to check off. Starting with The Book of Tea and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I am grateful to everyone who has supported me this year, laughed with me, drank tea with me, or just stumbled on and read a few post. I really appreciate it.

My geeky gift list 2010

I have not been on here for quit some time, with re-arranging things, a new job, and family matter, I have been busy. I have a local project that I may start up this coming month.

1. Been looking at e-readers and tablets lately, hands down the Kindle 3 ($139) is my choice of just straight e-ink e-readers.

2. As for tablets I am leaning toward android based tablets. Since I am a poor college student I chose Plexon (148.49). This item comes with the most updated and most compatible for the device. It has 256MB ram to handle multiple apps. You may use the device vertically or horizontally and it is perfect for viewing movies, reading e-books, listening to music, etc. Standby times is 3-4 days and usage time is about 3-6 hours depending on type of usage.

4.Ever since my sling pack’s zipper broke I have been in the market for a new pack. Recently I have been looking at messenger packs and rucksacks. I have recently fallen in love with this Full German Style Alpine Rucksack. (24.99)

5. I am in the market for a tea kettle, and I love the Adagio UltiliTEA Kettle(49). Nice, Eletric, easy to use, and will be a nice thing to take with me when I head off to school in the fall.

6. I do a lot of writing, whether it’s blog post ideas, class notes, and words of wisdom. I’ve become a fan of the Moleskin Pocket Note Books (Ruled) (10.95).

7. Of coarse with note books you need pens, my favorite pen to doodle and write with is the Zebra f-302 Bold. (17.38)

8.  As much as I love tea, I have yet to get a tea pot. This tea pot is awesome, and is my favorite color. Amsterdam 3 Cup Teapot (10.99).

9. Power Friending (16.47) I am a nerd when it come so social media/networking. Power Friending is the first book by Amber Mac (Co-host of Net at night).

10. Amazon Cards — the Net superstar

My Friend – Leah Abucayan

Who are you?

Leah Abucayan: hellaLEAH A.K.A. tapeBEAST

I’m just your average nerdy kid with a tumblr

I’m passionate about art&design&imagination

I have a small personal business where I make&design wallets of duct tape, it’s basically my only job

I wake up each morning to a lovely family & a little doggy named Ziggy

I find inspiration practically everything & I’d like to make the world smile.

What blogs do you do?

HellaLEAH – Personal Blog

tapeBeast

What is the meaning behind/How did you come up with the name of you blogs?

hellaLEAH is simply just my AIM sn, since i’m from Northern Cali, Ithought “hella” was appropriate, and in my computer class there was a couple times we’d go over something in class that is very…well, quite random so my friends would always go, “that’s hella Leah right there” so it was kind of inside joke.

tapeBEAST came about from a graphic design class I took at Academy of Art. We were assigned to create a business along with logos and other forms of design that businesses need. I used my newly growing business/hobby as an example for that class & the name just stuck.

What motivations drove you to start blogging/vlogging?

Actually the reason I started blogging was because my brother Leejay had a tumblr for quite awhile and always told me about it, but I took no intrest, but one day he just walked over when I was on my laptop and made me an account. From then on, I didn’t really know what to do with a tumblr, so I just posted the randomest things that I found was interesting & I used it as storage space for pictures so I didn’t have to keep saving things on my computer, but I got really good feedback from what I was posting so I continued.

What motivations keep you bloggingg today?

There so many inspiring things to find on tumblr, you don’t even have to think, you just reblog. it’s something do to on days with nothing or a great procrastination during school haha & I kept blogging because I realized the great responses I receive from almost I post.

What future projects are you workings on?

Just tapeBEAST for now, tumblrs helped a lot getting the word out about tapeBEAST so I have quite a few wallets to take care of.

Name one thing that you have learned from blogging?

That the simplest thing can inspire someone & there are so many talented people that need to be discovered

What randomness would you like to share with the world?

My plan is to have everything on my resume relate to Disney in some say because that’s where I want to work in the future. I have a plan.

I’m terrified of Ronald McDonald & Thomas the Train

I’m currently learning to ride a unicycle

I find that if you put bacon or mustaches on anything…people like it

I’m not one with the words…that’s why I just draw pictures.

WORD.
